17 Weeks

Your Baby: Week 17

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. The umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes are now topped by one-of-a-kind prints.

How far along? 17 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 7 lbs
Maternity clothes? Had to break down and buy some pants. My other pants were getting very uncomfortable!!
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: I have no problem falling asleep. When I lay down at night it is game over. I do have more energy throughout the day for sure.
Best moment this week: Getting more and more rooms organized so I can find the nursery and start decorating.
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Sleeping on my stomach and fitting into my old jeans.
Movement: Not yet, but I hear it is close to feeling it.
Food cravings: Kyle thinks the baby is going to come out part Mexican. Something that always sounds good is Mexican food. Regardless if it is Taco Bell or El Meson.
Anything making you queasy or sick: My morning sickness has subsided but I have been getting sick at night....STILL!
Have you started to show yet: Yeah, this week is when everyone started to notice it more. It is getting harder to hide for sure.
Jordan's Gender prediction: Boy     Kyle's Gender prediction: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! But still wishing I would stop getting sick!! On the positive side, at least it is only once a day if that.
Weekly Wisdom: I have said it before but, Colace is working great for me. It has made my life so much easier.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender....3/13/2013!!

Hectic Time.......Playing catch up (weeks 14-16)

So I have not posted for a few weeks, but it has been an extremely busy time!! We closed on our new home on January 31st and it was chaos from then on. I think we chose the coldest weekend to move, it couldn't have been any more miserable outside. I ended up getting a cold afterwards and we couldn't get caught up on sleep for a couple weeks. For weeks 14-16 it was about the same. I was very tired and  was still getting sick about once/twice a day.

Your Baby: Week 14

Your adorable little fetus is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling, and (not so cute but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. Lanugo (thin, downy hair) is growing all over the body for warmth.

Your Baby: Week 15

Continuing the march towards normal proportions, baby's legs now outmeasure the arms. And, finally, all four limbs have functional joints. Your fetus is squirming and wiggling like crazy down in the womb, though you probably still can't feel the movements.

Your Baby: Week 16

Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice. Eyebrows, lashes and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming. And, if you're interested, an ultrasound might be able to determine gender.
